General Assembly

The General Assembly is the highest governing body of the ACMS Organization. It consists of all members of the Organization. The other governing bodies are elected and accountable to this highest body.
The General Assembly, in addition to other issues that it deems necessary to be considered by it, decides on the amendment of the Statute, determines the areas and programs of activity, regularly monitors and controls their implementation, reviews economic, financial and administrative issues, approves acts important in relation to the budget of the non-profit organization and the expenses for the next year, issues norms for the regulation of the activity, organization and structure of the organization, elects or appoints the members of the highest executive body, establishes special committees, and decides also for other issues expressly provided in the law or in the statute. In this context, the General Assembly has the power to elect and dismiss officials in leadership positions of the organization, to approve periodic financial and labour reports, and to decide on the merger, division or dissolution of the Organization. In addition to its reserved responsibilities, the General Assembly also has the following responsibilities: approving the organization’s strategy; approval of the internal regulations of the organization; approval of any amendment to this statute.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of: The Director of the Board, Deputy. Director of the Board, Secretary and two Board Members. The General Assembly elects the Members of the Board and the Director of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors then meets and elects the positions of Deputy Director of the Board and Secretary. The Board of Directors implements the decisions of the General Assembly, sets up committees and decides on matters of the Organization, in addition to those which are the competence of the General Assembly.

Dr. Linda Shosha
Currently serving as Chief Doctor at the American Hospital in Tirana is Lindita Mano (Shosha), MD, MSc, Ph.D. The head of the International Medical Congress Albania (IMCA), Dr. Mano is a proctologist surgeon with exceptional experience in surgical sciences and a long list of academic publications. Dr. Mano is a strong proponent of women's rights and of women in medicine.

Kristi Cina
"Kristi is a 30 years old young professional from Korça and a law graduate of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi with a demonstrated passion for youth empowerment, international affairs, and the United Nations. In 2016 he established the United Nations Youth Association of Albania (UNYAA), a youth-led non-profit that seeks to promote the values and activities of the UN primary among youth. Since then, UNYAA has become one of the largest UN Youth communities in the country, has turned into an internationally accredited UN Association, and has organized several projects such as Coffee Talks which promotes the SDGs and Youth 2030, alongside activities that foster a Model UN culture in our country thanks to the MUN Albania Initiative.

Kristi is also the founder and manager of the Albanian Youth Delegate to the UN Programme and has served as an adviser on youth within the national delegation of the Republic of Albania to UNESCO’s 40th General Conference. His professional background includes working for Deloitte Legal Shpk as a Legal Associate and for the OSCE Presence in Albania as a Legal Assistant. Kristi sits on different consultative boards such as the UN Youth Advisory Group in Albania and the Commission for Sustainable Development and Integrity created by ICC Albania."

Dritan Sakuta
Dritan Sakuta graduated with a master's degree in Jurisprudence in Public Law. Dritan has served as the third President of the National Youth Congress for the term 2017- 2018. Since 2020 he is a member of the National Civil Society Council. Mr. Sakuta currently serves as an Adviser to a Member of the Albanian Parliament. He has played a major role in the civil society sector since he was a high school student, mainly working in fields such as Human Rights, Active Participation, Decision-making, and Youth Activism. Mr. Sakuta’s long experience has made him an expert in Project Cycle Management. His professional career started at LIBURNETIK Organization, from where he continued working as a Project Coordinator.

Anduena Ylli
At the National Emergency Medical Center, Anduena Ylli has been in charge of "Prevention, Quality Control, and Education" since 2017. She has a professional master's degree in health management and a master's degree in public health. Anduena graduated from the University of Medicine Tirana in 2018 after completing her studies there, and since then she has made a significant contribution to the establishment of the National Emergency Medical Center, a service that has modernized the civil medical emergency service from its inception.

Adela Kallanxhi
Experienced Marketing Manager, focused on Digital Transformation, with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry. Skilled in Marketing Management, Business Planning, Analytical Skills, Content writing, and Sales. Strong marketing professional with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Marketing from the UNIVERSITY OF TIRANA. Adela is currently a professor of Digital Marketing at the same university. She has been nominated as woman of the year in ICT in 2018 for creating and co-founding ALTROPOST. Adela is currently the CEO of Altropost.

Dr. Henri Fero
Dr. Henri Fero serves as the Executive President. Dr. Fero earned an Integrated M.Sc. Degree in Medicine from the University of Tirana. He co-founded the "Albanian Committee of Medical Students" (ACMS) as a young student in 2019. He served as the first Head of the Delegation for its integration process into the International Federation of Medical Students at the IFMSA General Assembly in Taiwan. He was named as one of the two Albanian Youth Delegates to the UN in May 2020. At the United Nations' 75th General Assembly's Third Committee, the pair spoke on behalf of Albanian youth. Dr. Henri Fero has participated in the UNODC Youth Forum as the representative of Albanian youth and is a member of the UN Albania Country Team Youth Advisory Group. He completed the online pandemic preparedness training offered by the "Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation" and is a One Young World Alumni. He has published four scientific case studies in major medical and scientific journals, demonstrating an admirable commitment to medicine. Dr. Fero worked as a volunteer and coordinator for the Albanian Center of Medical Emergencies during the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Fero worked in 2021 as the department head for screening at the German International Hospital in Tirana. Dr. Fero is a part of the team of specialists working on the Regional Cooperation Council's initiative, "Western Balkans Youth Lab." In collaboration with other professionals, Dr. Fero is developing the National Health Strategy for Mental Health's Youth Component as a delegate of the Albanian National Youth Congress. The strategy will then be implemented by the Albanian Ministry of Health and Social Justice.

Dr. Xheni Borakaj
Xheni Borakaj is the NMO (National Member Organization) President of ACMS. She is a newly graduated medical doctor in the Faculty of Medicine, Tirana. She has been part of ACMS since its foundation in 2019, where she pursued different levels of engagement, starting as the National Officer on Medical Education, followed by Secretary General and member of the Executive Secretariat. Xheni has extensive experience in managing ACMS and leading its day-to-day activity. She carries many tasks within the NMO, such as leading the Team of Officials, coordinating between departments, and strategic planning. She also works on project management, writing project proposals, PR and communication, and facilitation of non-formal education activities. Xheni recently acquired training on non-formal education methods in a training course conducted by the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg. Xheni has a priority on mental health awareness-raising activities, and she was contracted as an expert for creating the content of the toolkit “Mental Health – Defying Stigma” within the framework of the WBYL project carried out by the Regional Cooperation Council. She has had a special interest in studying societal factors that impact healthcare access in different medical conditions. For her diploma thesis, she conducted a study on the issue of the stigma of people with epilepsy among students of health sciences. Xheni is a Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Alumna at KAS Albania. She became part of the Sur-Place scholarship program in 2020, both for her academic achievements and extracurricular engagement. She is also an alumna of MIRAI – Western Balkans Meet Japan, a worldwide exchange program funded by the MoFA in Japan and brought to Western Balkans by RYCO.
