ACMS starts the implementation of its latest project, “Reproductive Health in the lens of Human Rights”.
This pilot activity project focuses on reproductive health among young people and is supported by the European Youth Foundation, a Foundation created specifically for young people and youth CSOs that operate in the Council of Europe’s member states.
During this project, 25 young people will gain knowledge and skills on how to address reproductive health. Afterward, they will engage in their community, thus providing the best knowledge to the young people who will be involved in the later phases of this project.
This project aims to fight the lack of information and the consequential lack of sensibility about the issues of reproductive health, resulting in a community that is more aware of reproductive health and less vulnerable to stigma, aims to build capacities for raising awareness about reproductive health, family planning, and reproductive disease, making education the primary key of the project, pyramid-like manner through non-formal methods.
Besides that, “Reproductive Health in the lens of Human Rights” will serve as an opportunity for young participants to work with high school students in rural and suburban areas of the capital, to inform them and raise awareness about reproductive health.
This project will also introduce young people to the basic concepts of community volunteerism, as a core element of active citizenship.
Furthermore, this project has as its main goal to raise awareness and educate young people on the topics of reproductive health as a fundamental human right, which will directly contribute to the perception of this topic, which is one of the most delicate topics in Albanian society.
